Xavier Wherry arrived at WMAR-2 News in February 2024. Before coming to Baltimore he was a reporter/anchor in his hometown of Huntsville, Alabama at WAAY-TV.
During his time at WAAY-TV, Xavier covered a wide range of stories from the infamous Casey and Vicky White drama, to interviewing Mike Pence as well as covering some high-level college football games including the 2022 Sugar Bowl between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Kansas State Wildcats.
Xavier once lived in Arlington Virginia for 3 years after graduating from the University of North Alabama in 2018. Xavier is thrilled to return to the region and is excited to get out in the community and see what makes this such a special place to work live and play.
In his spare time, Xavier is usually lifting weights and playing basketball with friends. He loves the NBA and his favorite team to watch is the Golden State Warriors.
