Trooper injured after crash in Cecil County

ELKTON, Md. (WMAR) - Maryland State Police are investing a crash that involved a trooper in Cecil County Monday afternoon. 

According to police, Trooper Philippi was traveling southbound on MD 279 approaching MD 213 around 1:00 p.m.

Philippi was attempting to make a left turn onto MD 213 when Jonah Taylor, who was driving a Chevrolet Cruze, also entered the intersection. 

The two cars crashed, and Taylor's car went into the passenger side of Trooper Philippi's patrol car. 

Philippi was taken to the hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries. Taylor was not injured and stayed at the scene after the crash.
