January 2026 Tracker: Baltimore murders and shootings

BALTIMORE — Baltimore City wrapped the year 2025 with 133 homicides, down 61 from 2024.

In December 2025, there were 13 recorded homicides and 28 non-fatal shootings.

Since September 2020, WMAR-2 News has tracked daily murders and shootings in the city each month.

Here is January 2026:

1/31 - 10:27pm: An argument inside a store in the 4100 block of Eastern Avenue led to gunfire leaving two men, ages 20 and 25, wounded. Both are listed as stable.

1/31 - 11:04am: Two people, a 41-year-old man and 15-year-old boy, were shot inside a home in the 3900 block of Fairhaven Avenue. A third victim, a 32-year-old man, later checked into a local hospital after being shot at the same location. The teen's injuries are considered life-threatening.

1/30 - 9:02pm: Two men were shot in the area of Sheridan and Woodbourne Avenues. One victim, 40-year-old Michael Ramseur, died at the scene. The other is expected to survive.

1/30 - 7:25pm: A 23-year-old man was shot at an unknown location. Police say he is stable.

1/30 - 12:06am: A 23-year-old man was shot in the 700 block of S. Macon Street. His injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.

1/28 - 11:20pm: A 14-year-old boy was wounded in the finger in the 1900 block of N. Dukeland Street.

1/24 - 3:22pm: A 63-year-old woman was shot in the 100 block of 29th Street. She's listed as stable. A person of interest was taken in for questioning.

1/24 - 1:09pm: A 27-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 700 block of North Port Street. Police say he is stable.

1/22 - 6:47pm: A 31-year-old man was shot in the 800 block of North Fremont Street. He is in stable condition.

1/20 - 7:52pm: A 59-year-old woman was shot on 5400 Gerland Avenue. She's expected to survive.

1/20 - 8:26am: Dashond Johnson's body was discovered along the Gwynns Falls trail off W. Baltimore Street. He was stabbed to death. Police later arrested and charged his boyfriend, 30-year-old Eric Jones.

1/20 - 4:56am: Three people, two adult women and a man, were shot during a robbery in the 2400 block of Westport Street. All three are expected to survive.

1/18 - 4:48am: Jemel Dixon, 36, was shot and killed in the area of Linden Avenue and West North Avenue. 40-year-old Derrick Ashe Jr. was arrested and charged with first and second-degree murder.

1/15 - 9:34pm: Three men were shot in the 2100 block of W. Patapsco Avenue. One victim, identified as 25-year-old Treyvon Matthews, died.

1/14 - 9:08pm: Cintront Lynn, 30, died after being shot in the 2500 block of Terra Firma Road.

1/14 - 1:51pm: Davon Johnson, 36, died after being shot inside a home in the 700 block of East 25th Street. Investigators arrested 19-year-old Derrick Williams, 18-year-old Dasean Williams and 28-year-old Keishonne Moore.

1/14 - 10:49am: Two men, ages 32 and 27, were shot in the 2700 block of W. Cold Spring Lane. Both are expected to survive.

1/12 - 5:53pm: A 55-year-old man was shot in the foot in the 4700 block of Litchfield Avenue. He was treated at a local hospital.

1/12 - 3:12am: A 25-year-old man self-checked into the hospital after being shot in the 4400 block of Parkside Drive. He's expected to survive.

1/11 - 8:14pm: A 20-year-old man was shot in the 1500 block of Retreat Street. He's listed as stable.

1/11 - 5:10am: Derek Dangerfield, 59, was shot and killed at a home in the 3900 block of Penhurst Avenue.

1/10: A 20-year-old woman was shot in the 200 block of Preston Court. Her injuries are non-life-threatening.

1/5 - 11:52pm: Kenyon Quickley Jr. died after being shot in the 4400 block of Marx Avenue.

1/5 - 1:21am: A 57-year-old man self checked into a hospital after being shot in the leg at an undisclosed location.

1/4 - 8:09am: Philip Jones, 48, was struck and killed by a vehicle in the 1200 block of W. North Avenue. Police ruled the incident a homicide due to it being a hit & run.

1/3 - 5:33pm: James Bushrod, 55, died after being shot in the 700 block of N. Patterson Park Avenue.

1/3 - 3:11pm: A 46-year-old man was shot in the 6600 block of Reisterstown Road. He's listed as stable.

1/2 - 5:02pm: A 49-year-old man was shot in the 1800 block of N. Chapel Street. His injuries are non-life-threatening.
