ESSEX, Md. — Two people are dead following an overnight car crash in Essex Sunday.
Baltimore County Police said a Chevy Malibu driven by 18-year-old Austin Lautenschlager went off the side of Holly Neck Road, before striking a tree.
Lautenschlager and a passenger, identified as 19-year-old David Santos III died on scene.
Detectives are still investigating what caused Lautenschlager to lose control.
