DUNDALK, Md. — Baltimore City Department of Public Works crews worked to repair an 8-inch water main break in Dundalk on Wednesday morning into the afternoon.
Officials said the water leak was reported at 8:32 a.m. on Dukie Avenue, just off North Point Boulevard, and that by 10:02 a.m., crews had confirmed a leak on an 8-inch water main, turning the water main off as of 11:18 a.m.
About 20 properties temporarily saw a water service disruption, DPW said.

Hear from Dundalk residents as crews worked through Wednesday afternoon to repair an 8-inch water main break
"This incident is occurring as Baltimore transitions from a winter storm into prolonged, record-low temperatures that are placing added stress on water infrastructure citywide," said an official statement from the organization.
The statement said DPW is not experiencing a major increase in water main breaks, but is receiving a higher volume of calls related to frozen pipes.
Lori Silverman, a neighbor, handed crews coffee as they worked to repair the break. She was at the store as the break happened, and had to park at a business further down North Point Boulevard and walk home.
"When these gentlemen saw me walking, they all came to help me and carry my bags, and I really appreciate that," she told WMAR-2 News.
"They're my neighbors," Silverman added. "They're my neighbors, and I always give something to the trash men too every Friday. That's what you're supposed to do."
"I told them as a joke, I dropped a quarter down there. If they could get it for me," she laughed.
Residents experiencing a loss of water service are encouraged to contact 311 in Baltimore City and 443-263-2220 in Baltimore County, the Department of Public Works said.
