Baltimore City Councilman Brandon Scott sported a Colin Kaepernick jersey at the council's Monday night meeting, drawing both praise and criticism.
Kaepernick, quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers, recently sparked controversy by deciding to sit down during the National Anthem to protest treatment of minorities.

Scott also bowed his head during the Pledge of Allegiance.
The response on social media was divided, with some saying Scott was being disrespectful, while others said he was continuing a much-needed conversation.
