MONTGOMERY COUNTY — A woman has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after she admitted to police she starved her 15-month-old daughter for three and a half weeks and put her body in a pillowcase and trash bags.

23-year-old Kiearra Tolson was arrested by the Montgomery County Police Department.

On Wednesday, an acquaintance of Tolson called the Emergency Communications Center (911) to report that she was currently with Tolson and Tolson told her that she had killed her child.

Officers responded to their location and Tolson was taken into custody.

During a police interview, Tolson told investigators that she had starved her daughter for three and a half weeks in the apartment on November Circle where she and her child lived.

She told officers that after her child died, she placed the child’s body in a pillowcase and trash bags and on June 17, discarded the child’s body in a dumpster located on the grounds of the apartment complex.

During a search of Tolson’s apartment, investigators found evidence corroborating her account of these events.

The victim's father was interviewed and stated that he last saw his daughter on April 17, and has not had any contact with Tolson since that time.

Tolson was taken to the Central Processing Unit and charged with first-degree murder. She will have bond review Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in Rockville.

Police say the child’s body has not been found.

Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
