A 26-year-old repeat offender was sentenced to 25 years after what police say a 'Good Samaritan' caught him robbing an elderly woman.
According to police, in September, Wayne Bell robbed a 79-year-old woman on the 100 blocks of East Lanvale Street when a man who witnessed the robbery approached Bell and asked him why he robbed the woman. They say Bell punched the man in the face and ran. The man grabbed Bell and with the help of two bystanders, they restrained him until Police came to the scene.
Police say this is Wayne Bell's third conviction of a violent crime. Bell was found guilty of all counts of robbery from one person and second-degree assault of another person.
