BALTIMORE — Baltimore City wrapped the year 2024 with 201 homicides, down 60 from 2023.

In July 2025, there were 18 homicides and 27 non-fatal shootings.

Since September 2020, WMAR-2 News has tracked daily murders and shootings in the city each month.

Here is August 2025.

8/31 - 3:15pm: Major Kip Smith, 61, was shot to death in the 3000 block of W. Garrison Avenue. Police have since arrested and charged 31-year-old Dontaye Richardson.

8/29 - 7:10pm: A 43-year-old man was found shot inside a vehicle in the 6600 block of Wallner Avenue. He is stable at this time.

8/24 - 6:05pm: A man was shot in the 4200 block of Reisterstown Road. He's expected to survive.

8/24 - 2:55pm: A 20-year-old man was shot in the 4400 block of Park Heights Avenue. He's been treated for non-life threatening injuries.

8/24 - 1:51am: A 63-year-old man self checked into the hospital after being shot in the 800 N. Caroline Street. He's expected to survive.

8/23 - 11:23pm: A 40-year-old man was shot in the 7200 block of McClean Boulevard. There is no word on his condition.

8/22 - 9:34pm: Davonne Hare, 26, was shot and killed in the 700 block of Druid Lake Park. Police have since arrested and charged a 16 year-old suspect.

8/22 - 12:43am: A 31-year-old female was grazed by a bullet while in the 800 block of S. Broadway.

8/21 - 7:24pm: A 37-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 1800 block of Washington Boulevard. He is receiving treatment.

8/21- 12:24am: A 38-year-old woman self-checked into a hospital after being shot at an undisclosed location. She's expected to survive.

8/20 - 5:13pm: Montrel Brooks-Davis,18, was shot to death in the 5100 block of Park Heights Avenue.

8/20 - 1:32pm: Levontaye Mullen, 25, was shot to death in the 2800 block of Woodbrook Ave.

8/18 - 11:33am: Wilson Marroquin Caceros, 29, was shot to death in the 2700 block of Manokin Street. Police have determined this incident happened in Baltimore County, and therefore will no longer count towards the City's 2025 homicide total.

8/16 - 3:28am: A 42-year-old man was shot in the 200 block of S. Conkling Street. He's listed as stable.

8/15 - 1:55pm: A 41-year-old man was shot in the 1700 block of Gay Street. He's listed as stable.

8/13 - 5:27pm: An 18-year-old man was shot in the 1000 block of Whatcoat Street. He's listed as stable.

8/12 - 5:46pm: An 18-year-old woman was shot in the hand in the 500 block of West Hoffman Street.

8/9 - 8:46pm: Six people, including a five-year-old girl, were shot on Queensberry Avenue. One victim, 38-year-old Jerome Michael Coateson, died a day later.

8/9 - 1:07am: Birane Gaye, 38, was shot to death in the 2500 block of W. Franklin Street. Police have since arrested and charged 24-year-old Dajuan Heath.

8/9 - 12:08am: A 28-year-old woman was shot in the 100 block of S. Clinton Street. Her injuries are considered non-life threatening.

8/8 - 10:12pm: A 26-year-old man was shot in the 1800 block of Edmondson Avenue. He's expected to survive. Police have since arrested 38-year-old James Barrett.

8/4 - 5:34pm: Two men, ages 34 and 72, were shot in the 2600 block of W. North Avenue. Both were taken to hospitals for treatment.

8/4 - 12:05am: Two men, ages 22 and 25, were shot in the 2000 block of Lemmon Street. Both are expected to survive.

8/3 - 2:05am: A 27-year-old man was shot in the 5100 block of Reisterstown Road. There is no word on his condition.

8/2 - 8:45pm: A 36-year-old man was shot in the 4300 block of Parkton Street. There is no word on his condition.

8/1 - 10:49pm: A 35-year-old self-checked into the hospital after being shot in the 5300 block of York Road. His injuries are life-threatening.

8/1 - 4:25pm: A 44-year-old man was shot in the 100 block of N. Howard Street. Police say he is stable. Police charged 45-year-old Emanuel Melcher.

8/1 - 1:31am: A 21-year-old man was shot in the 400 block of W. Mulberry Street. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
