Wednesday will have another chance for rain, but this time storms will be possible. The atmosphere tomorrow will be very turbulent, with very strong winds aloft. Some of the models are suggesting winds near 80+mph about a mile above the surface. We call this the LLJ or Low Level Jet, and we'll have a strong one tomorrow.
The LLJ has the ability to sustain storms in marginal conditions. It can also produce damaging winds at the surface if a storm helps those strong winds aloft to reach the ground. For this reason, we will be under a marginal risk of severe weather for Wednesday. Stay up to date on the latest storm alerts with the Storm Shield App.
