August was a scorcher!

And that's WITHOUT factoring in heat index... It was no contest--temperatures for the area remained unseasonably warm for most of the month. 70% of the month, we saw afternoon highs above the seasonal average. The warmest afternoons came on the 2nd and 27th where temperatures climbed to 94 degrees.

If the blazing temperatures weren't enough to wow you, check out this month's rainfall totals in comparison to the last 100 years. Third place! The third wettest August in the last 100 years! We were damp for most of the month, but we accumulated a large chunk of the rain-- 3.51" back on the 12th due to Isaias.

Rain chances linger for a few more days, but things get nice and dry heading into the weekend... plus comfortable temperatures.
