The Baltimore Orioles signed Ryan Ripken, son of Cal Ripken Jr., to a minor league contract on Friday. The deal is with the Class A Aberdeen IronBirds.
The O's announced Ryan Ripken will report to extended spring training next week in Sarasota, Fla.
He was originally drafted in 2014 by the Washington Nationals (15th round).
The 23-year-old is listed at 6-6, 205 lbs. He's an infielder who bats and throws left-handed.
