Shooting in Severn leaves two men dead, two injured, police say

SEVERN, Md. — Anne Arundel County Police responded to reports of "multiple people shot" in Severn Tuesday night.

The shooting took place in the 8100 block of Meade Village Road.

According to Captain Tim Davis of the Anne Arundel County Police, four men were shot. Two of them were killed. The other two had non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The two men who died were 23-year-old Derrick Purcell Ahmad McDonald and 28-year-old Mack Galloway III.

Another victim, a 26-year-old man, was injured by a possible metal fragment resulting from gunfire, police say. He was not shot.

Officers found a vehicle near Pioneer Drive and Jacobs Road occupied by two men who are believed to be involved in the shooting.

The passenger had a non-life-threatening injury and the driver was unharmed.

Police say this was a targeted incident and was not a random act of violence.
