A Salisbury, Md. woman is honoring fallen officers through a new litter of puppies.
Tracey McMenamy is a foster parent for the rescue organization Operation Paws for Homes and is also the wife of a police officer. Her husband has been serving on the force for 12 years.
When McMenamy’s latest rescue dog gave birth to a litter of 10, she decided to name them after fallen officers, including the five men and women killed in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Two of the dogs are names after the sheriff’s deputies killed in Harford County, one is named after PGPD Officer Jacai Colson and the fifth pup is named after Officer Ashley Guindon killed on her first day on the street in Prince William County, Va.
