Sykesville, Md. has been named by the readers and editors of Budget Travel magazine as a semi-finalist in the search for the 'Coolest Small Town in America.'
The historic railroad hub in Carroll County has outlasted the field of 140 nominees. It's now one of 15 semi-finalists and the only town in Maryland to make the list. The town of Berlin, Md. on the eastern shore made the list in 2014 and won the contest.
