The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF) is demanding information regarding the fatal, police-involved shooting of Korryn Gaines, including body camera footage from the incident, Baltimore County Police Department's arrest warrant policy and a copy of the department's agreement with the police union.

Gaines was killed in her Randallstown apartment on Aug. 1 after a six hour-long standoff with police.

The organization sent a letter to Baltimore County Police requesting "a thorough and transparent investigation of and response to inconsistent accounts that the Baltimore County Police Department has provided about the incident."

Some of the inconsistencies mentioned are varying reports on whether there are any audio or video recordings of the incident, whether police were in possession of the key to Gaines' apartment and the time at which the involved officers' names will be released.

Police cited an unprecedented number of threats against the officers as reason to withhold their names.

The NAACP LDF is calling for the names of the "hostage negotiator," "crisis intervention" units and officers involved in the incident to be released.
