Driver flees after 2 killed in accident on beltway

Two people are dead following an accident on the Baltimore beltway, Maryland State Police say a car crashed into a guardrail on the outer loop of 695 near Providence road just after 1 a.m.

When troopers got to the scene, they found two people who had been sitting in the back of the car had been ejected. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the other was rushed to GBMC where they later died.

Police say a person sitting in the front passenger seat was wearing a seat belt and told officers that the driver fled. Baltimore County police found that person a short time later.

The driver and passenger were taken to Sinai Hospital for treatment.

State police say alcohol was a factor in the crash.

So far police have not released the names of the 4 people in the car.
