BALTIMORE — Students in Baltimore received new shoes on Thursday from Coca-Cola Consolidated and Samaritan's Feet International.

The organizations gave away about 600 pairs of shoes at Furman L. Templeton Preparatory Academy in West Baltimore.

"They are extremely excited," said Executive Director of Furman L. Templeton Preparatory Academy, Rosalind Lockwood. "I've had a couple of them come up and say to me Mrs. Lockwood these are the best shoes that I've ever had so they are extremely excited and they are very very grateful."

The shoe distribution is one of many that Samaritan's Feet will host this year around the world as they look to serve one million people as part of their million shoes campaign.

So far they have distributed more than 374,000 pairs of shoes across the United States and around the world.
