Five years ago, Shootout for Soldiers started with a couple of high school kids from Boys Latin playing lacrosse for a cause.
Today, the fundraiser takes place in cities coast to coast, raising money for wounded veterans. This year, Shootout for Soldiers crossed the $1 million threshold and raised $112,950 during the tournament at St. Paul's school.
Shootout for Soldiers benefits several programs for wounded veterans both nationally and locally. Part of the proceeds benefit Catch a Lift and The Baltimore Station.
Watch the video above to hear Dan Tisinger's story, who is active duty Navy and part of the fundraising team Army of Darkness, which raised more than $17,000 this year for injured vets.
