Crime in Odenton leaves a man injured after being stabbed, no injuries during shooting

ODENTON, Md. — Anne Arundel County Police are investigating two crime-related incidents that's left one person injured in Odenton.

On March 22 at 10:52 p.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of Annapolis Road for a stabbing. The victim told police he was in the area of the of the KFC and My Place Bar in the 1600 block of Annapolis Road when he was stabbed by a subject he only knew by a nickname.

He was taken to a local trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers identified and charged 49-year-old Tyrell Brown with First and Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment.

Police responded to a call for shots fired at the Motel 6 located at 1630 Annapolis Road in Odenton at 2:48 a.m. Saturday. There, officers were told fired several shots at the adult female victim from a vehicle then fled the scene.

No one was injured during the shooting. Detectives later identified and charged 26-year-old Calvin Whalen of 1700 black of Forest Creek Drive Hanover, Maryland with First Degree Assault and First and Second Degree Murder.
