After sitting in traffic for hours, the Delaware Memorial Bridge is back open this morning.

Delaware Department of Transportation officials said the bridge was shut down in both directions on Sunday because of a gas leak. The leak came from a chemical production facility in nearby New Castle, Delaware.

Officials also say the gas was highly flammable. Emergency crews closed the bridge in both directions from 5:00 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.

The cause of the leak is under investigation.
