Police: Montgomery County officer's death ruled self-inflicted

SILVER SPRING, Md. — Today, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of the District of Columbia has ruled Officer Thomas J.Bomba’s death as the result of a self-inflicted injury.

Officer Bomba had radioed to dispatch at 8:49 a.m., that he was with someone acting disorderly inside a parking garage in the area of Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street.

According to Montgomery County Police, Bomba was wearing his body-worn camera, but it had not been activated. They are continuing to evaluate evidence collected at the scene.
