Dr. Thomas Scalea joined the team at the University of Maryland R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma on January 4, 1997.
Under his leadership, Shock Trauma has grown into greatness, treating more than 8,000 badly injured patients each year and 97 percent of them survive.
