PHOENIX, Md — According to the Baltimore County Police Department, there is no known, on-going threat on Blenheim Road following a fatal shooting that took place early Saturday morning.
Just before 7:30 a.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of North Blenheim Road for reports of a barricade and of a subject with a gun. When officers arrived, they saw a suspect exit the front door of a home with a gun. At that point, at least one officer fired their service weapon. The suspect went back into the house, and, after it was deemed safe to enter the home, officers found the suspect lying on the floor.
Medical aid was attempted, but the suspect was pronounced dead and a handgun was found next to the suspect.
At this time, there are no other injuries and Baltimore County Police Department will continue to investigate.
Blenheim Road is now open.
