Another coronavirus death and cases reported at nursing homes in Carroll County

CARROLL COUNTY — Another has died Sunday, at a Carroll County nursing home have from the coronavirus.

The Carroll County Health Department announced one additional deaths at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Mount Airy. A man in his 80s. On Saturday, three deaths at the nursing home was announced. They are a man in his 60s and 2 women in their 80s, all with underlying health conditions. 77 of the 94 residents in the nursing home tested positive for the virus. This brings the total number of deaths there to 9.

The health department also mentioned a community case involving a woman in her 30s. Carroll Lutheran Village has an additional 5 cases. Two women in their 70s, a man in his 70s, a woman in her 80s, and a woman in her 90s.

Members of the staff at the nursing home were also tested: 24 staff have tested positive, 34 were negative, and 7 haven't received test results back.

Carroll Lutheran Village is also reporting a death from the coronavirus: A woman in her 90s with underlying conditions. Two staff members there tested positive for COVID-19.

The Carroll County Health Department also announced three additional cases of COVID-19 in the county: a man in his 40s, a man in his 50s, and a woman in her 60s. Twelve county residents have been released from isolation.
