Darin Atwater is the founder and conductor of the Soulful Symphony. The 85 piece orchestra is made up of mostly African-American and Latino musicians and celebrates diversity both in the community and through music.
The Symphony delves into the roots of African-American music, from the a capella spirituals of slaves through the blues and jazz age to Stevie Wonder for a truly unique experience.
After almost twenty years, the soulful Symphony will begin a new residency at Merriweather Post Pavilion starting in June.
