The Baltimore Humane Society has gotten creative in the face of adversity as it continues to offer adoptions, pet food assistance and emergency intake services to the community.
Adoptions are open by appointment only. Potential adopters are encouraged to go to the Humane Society website and fill out an application. Adopters should also note which pets they're interested in. Once an application is approved, an appointment can be made to meet the animals.
You can help in other ways as well - on Sunday, April 26 at 9am, Baltimore Humane is hosting its first-ever BMORE HUMANE Race Ready Virtual 5K and one-mile fun run/walk. In an effort to both honor social distancing and raise much-needed funds for the animals that BHS cares for, people are encouraged to grab their running shoes and head out into the neighborhood or to a nearby trail - with or without a pup.
The Baltimore Humane Society can also help those who are struggling to provide their pets with food. Pet owners can make an appointment with the BMore Kind Pet Food Bank and food will be provided. Thanks to a generous donation from the Rouben & Violet Jiji Foundation, the pet food bank is stocked and ready to help!
