Just because the temperatures are in the negatives and your eyelids freeze together every time you step outside, doesn’t mean you have to avoid being social during the winter months.
Here’s a roundup of some local beer/wine events happening over the next couple of months to get you out the door and having fun!
Winter Wine Event
Enjoy wines from all around Maryland at the Winter Wine event, sponsored by the Maryland Wineries Association. It’s happening at the B&O Railroad Museum on Pratt St. on January 21. You can sample wines from 15 Maryland wineries, plus snack on hors d’oeuvres and enjoy live jazz music. There are different ticket options depending on what you want to try. Far Niente/Nickel and Nickel Wine Dinner
Why make dinner when you can have someone make a five-course dinner complete with wine pairing for you? The Oregon Grille in Cockeysville is hosting the Far Niente/Nickel and Nickel Wine Dinner with Bruce Mooers, the president of Far Niente Winery in Napa Valley, on February 2. Courses include Jumbo lump crab with citrus butter and blood orange segments and cedar plank grilled venison with braised red cabbage and a blackberry chocolate sauce. YUM! Tickets are $175 per person. To see the full menu, click here.
“Brewmore” is a feature-length documentary about the history of brewing beer in the U.S. and how the craft beer frenzy has taken hold in Baltimore. The showing is happening at the Baltimore Museum of Industry on February 4. The film is free to watch and there will be popcorn, soft drinks and, of course, beer for purchase.
Ales and Tails
Your furry friend shouldn't have to stay at home while you go out and play. Dogs are invited to take part in Jailbreak Brewing Company's Ales and Tails event on January 28. They can meet new dogs, you can meet new people, everyone wins! For details, click here.
