UPDATE: Harford County Schools say the bomb threat has been deemed "non-credible" by police. Students and staff have returned to Southampton Middle School.

All students at Southampton Middle School in Bel Air have been evacuated after a bomb threat was received by phone Monday morning, according to Jillian Lader, Manager of Communications at Harford County Public Schools.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the incident. Police say students have been safely evacuated to St. Matthew's Church until the building is deemed safe enough for students to return to class.

Lader released a statement saying students are safe and will remain evacuated until police complete their investigation. "Once the investigation concludes and students are returned to their classrooms, we will notify the school community," she said.

Police are looking into the source of the threat.
