There's a big event this weekend to raise awareness about ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Former Raven OJ Brigance was diagnosed with the neurological disease in 2007.

He and his wife Chanda started the Brigance Brigade shortly afterwards.

This Saturday the foundation is hosting a fundraiser, the 5.7K Run and Family Walk.

It's from 8:00 a.m. until noon at the Maryland Zoo.

"We're going to have a wonderful time. We're going to come out, we're going to walk, we're going to run, whatever you choose to do, skip, hop, jump, whatever it is. Afterwards, we're going to comeback to the celebration village, we're going to have a sack potato race for the kids, we're going to have a kids fun run, we're going to have rock climbing, a gaming truck, live DJ, music, and Jimmy's Seafood for lunch," said Chanda Brigance.

This year they're also going to have a beer garden.
