The man who was shot and killed has been identified. He is 43-year-old Glenn Pettie, Jr. of Dundalk.
UPDATE 5/19 - 8:12pm:
The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General has released more details regarding the officer-involved shooting.
After arriving at the home in the 8200 block of North Boundary Road, one of the two officers called the 911 caller who reported the mental health crisis.
One officer stood at the front door of the home, and the other walked through an alley to the back of the house. The officer in the alley saw the armed man, and the man started shooting at the officer.
After the officer shot and wounded the man, he and the other officer gave medical aid to the man until medics arrived. As previously stated, the man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The handgun used by the man was recovered by police. No officers were injured. This incident is still under investigation.
UPDATE:
According to Chief Robert McCollough of Baltimore County Police, at around 7:30pm, an armed man was experiencing a "mental health episode." Officers arrived on the scene.
Gunfire between the armed man and officers occurred.

Authorities say there will be a large police presence in the area. There is no threat to the community at this time.
