Bring out the rain boots & warm coat...

A cold front approaches the region from west to east and will bring rain chances back to Maryland throughout the weekend. The Mid-Atlantic region will not be the only area getting in on some of this rain... you can see that shower chances extend up and down the eastern seaboard.

The cold front will be relatively moisture-starved so rain chances will be low for Saturday. Still keep the rain jacket with you as a pop up shower is possible around the Inner Harbor and southern Maryland. However, BEHIND the cold front is where rain chances look more promising throughout Sunday morning and afternoon.

When it is all said and done, projected rainfall totals through Sunday evening look to range anywhere from .50-1" on average but locally higher amounts are possible.

Not just tracking rain chances... but MUCH cooler temperatures heading into the back half of the weekend. It will feel more spring-like today with highs in the low to mid-70s BUT once colder air seeps into the region behind the frontal boundary, temperatures will struggle to hit the 60s. We are talking about a 15-17 degree temperature drop today into Sunday.
