The tropics are raring to go! Irma has formed in the Eastern Atlantic. Right now, it is a strengthening tropical storm, so it is forecasted to become a hurricane by Friday and a a major hurricane, category 3 or higher,  by Monday.

Irma is moving to the west at 12 mph and the sustained winds are at 70 mph. It is 4 mph short of hurricane status. When Irma becomes a hurricane, it will be the 4th hurricane in the Atlantic basin this season.

Unfortunately, there is another area to watch in the Gulf of Mexico that may bring more rain to some of the saturated Gulf Coast states.

Harvey continues to move NE and Maryland will feel the affects of Harvey by tomorrow into the weekend.

Stay tuned!
