Rain settles back into the forecast on Wednesday as a steep decline in temperatures lingers in the overnight hours

Record heat for the 3rd week of May, exacerbating our ongoing drought.

Maryland finally catches a break by Wednesday, with widespread rain helping ease both the drought and the heat. We see over a 35-degree drop in temperatures between Wednesday afternoon and early Thursday morning.

While we will not see an immediate impact on the drought monitor, we should see some improvement by the end of the month.
