The average high for this time of year is 85°. Today, we are expected to range slightly cooler than normal, in the lower-80s for most and that is due to the combination of north-northeast winds, extra cloud cover aloft, and rainfall from earlier this morning.

Good news-- the scattered showers and storms that moved in this morning, are pushing off to our east. Drier conditions will prevail through the afternoon and evening and cloud cover will begin to diminish as high pressure moves across the northeastern region later tonight. It will be a great afternoon/evening to stop and smell the flowers!

We will keep temperatures slightly cooler than normal for the next few days. Once we head into the weekend, temperatures will climb above normal, into the upper-80s and lower-90s by the back half of the weekend and into early next week. I know we do not need more rain BUT it is in fact on the horizon for the weekend. So far, the rainfall total for the month of August is 9.84" and we could be adding to that Saturday and Sunday. Do not put the rain jacket away!
