A slow-moving cold front will pass through later today. An area of low pressure will develop and track along the front, spreading heavy rain to the region.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of Maryland under a 'marginal risk' for severe weather today. Damaging winds will be the primary concern, though an isolated tornado cannot be completely ruled out.

The rain will pick up in intensity this afternoon through tonight. Localized flash flooding will be possible.

This rain will add to our already impressive 2018 rain total. Right now, BWI has collected 57.14 inches of rain so far this year making it the 5th wettest year on record.
