First Day of Autumn!

BALTIMORE — If you have been waiting for the seasons to change, today is your day. At 9:30 this morning the Autumnal Equinox will arrive. Fall will be here once again!

If you ever wondered why seasons change, it is because the tilt of earth on it's axis. During he Equinoxes, Autumnal and Vernal the earth's axis is not tilted toward nor away from the sun. Therefore, there is equal amount of daylight and darkness at all latitudes.

The hemisphere that is pointed towards or away from the sun will change as the earth travels around the sun.

Although, it's the first day of Fall is feels like Winter this morning. There have been Frost Advisories north and west of Baltimore.

Also, temps are 10-20 degrees below normal in most spots.

Today will be beautiful nonetheless, with ample sunshine and warmer temperatures by the afternoon and highs slightly below the normal high of 76 degrees.
