Darker Days Are Ahead...

So.....if you are like me, you never got over losing an hour of sleep last March when we "sprung forward" setting our clocks an hour ahead for Daylight saving time.

Well, 8 months later, I have some good news....we finally get back the hour we lost!  Daylight saving time comes to an end Sunday, November 5 at 2 a.m.  Make sure you set your clocks back or "fall back" an hour before you go to bed Saturday. Please remember to also check the battery in your smoke detectors.

Some people like Daylight saving time and some people don't. It started as a way to help farmers with harvesting but actually, it was the retail world who wanted the extra hour to shop in the afternoon and evenings.

Others say that it saves energy but the Department of Transportation did a study in 1975 that showed only about a 1 percent a day savings in electric use.

Arizona and Hawaii are the only two states that don't adhere to Daylight saving time and about 40 percent of the world uses it.

No matter how you feel about it, get ready for darker days as we get closer and closer to the winter season!
