A heat wave is when the temperature hits 90 degrees or higher 3 days in a row.

We have had several heat waves already.....2 in June and 2 in July. The 2 heat waves in June were short-lived with both of them lasting 4 days.

The first one in July lasted 5 days and we are currently in the second heat wave that started July 11th with a high temperature of 90. July 12th the high was 91 and the high was 91 on July 13th. If the forecast verifies, we have 7 more days of this second heat wave in July.

It will make it it a little easier to beat the heat if you stay hydrated and seek shade as much as possible. Also, don't forget to SLIP, SLOP, SLAP! Slip on a light colored T-shirt, Slop on sunscreen and Slap on a wide brim hat.

Stay tuned!
