Veterans who go to the Baltimore VA will soon have new rehabilitation equipment, thanks to the Maryland Free State Post 167 of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America based in Owings Mills.

The group donated $7,733 to the Baltimore VA Medical Center.

The money will be used to buy a recumbent cross trainer for use in the Physical Therapy Clinic at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. This new piece of equipment will be used in the rehabilitation of veteran inpatients and outpatients at the medical center by offering low impact, total-body cardio and strength training.

“The generosity and continued support from the Maryland Free State Post 167 of the JWV makes it possible for us to enhance the services and programs we provide to our veteran patients,” said Jonathan Eckman, director of the VA Maryland Health Care System. “Furthermore, it sends an important message to our veterans that they are appreciated and that their service in the armed forces has not been forgotten.”
