BALTIMORE — The Community College of Baltimore County says it has paid out nearly $800,000 worth of incentives to staff and students to encourage them to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

Students showing proof of vaccination have received $100 credited to their school ID card to use on campus at places such as the bookstore and café.

Employees are being given a $200 incentive for proof of full vaccination.

So far the school says 80 percent of full-time employees have been vaccinated, accounting for $365,000 of the incentives.

Many reportedly chose to donate their financial incentive back to the CCBC Foundation.

All employees are required to be fully vaccinated or undergo weekly testing by Nov. 1.

A vaccination clinic is being held September 14 at CCBC Essex.
