ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Lane closures are scheduled for the Bay Bridge again in August as the Maryland Transportation Authority's "Toll Dollars at Work" campaign continues to attempt to make repairs on area roads.
The MDTA announced lane closures from Aug. 18 through Aug. 24, subject to favorable weather and traffic conditions.
The westbound span will completely close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Monday, Aug. 18 through Wednesday, Aug. 21; from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday into Friday, Aug. 22 and 23; and from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Saturday in Sunday, Aug. 24 to 25. The closures are for routine preservation and maintenance work. During the closures, two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span.
That westbound span will then close a single lane from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and again 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, also for preservation and maintenance work. Also Monday through Thursday, one lane may close for about 15 minutes for contractor pick up.
As the closures occur, stay aware of signage at toll booths directing drivers to certain lanes that will lead them to appropriately directed traffic.
