BALTIMORE — Happy National Caramel Day!

Yes, there is a holiday for just about every type of food out there and when there’s a food holiday that we can celebrate locally, we’re all about it.

Goetze’s Caramel Creams are some of my favorite candies and they’re made right here in Baltimore. I love the slightly crunchy outer shell and creamy filling. August Goetze (pronounced “gets”) and his son William started the company in 1895 after August bought the Baltimore Chewing Gum Company. They've been making these delicious caramel treats for a long time so suffice it to say, they know what they're doing.

The company also makes Cow Tales and the Caramel Creams come in several flavors including chocolate and strawberry.

In honor of National Caramel Day on April 5, Goetze’s is offering a 20% discount on online purchases all day long. Use the code CARAMEL19 at checkout.

And starting on April 5, you can enter a raffle giveaway for a pretty sweet prize. You’ll win more than 13 pounds of Goetze’s Caramel Creams and Cow Tales in a variety of flavors. You’ll also take home some vintage Goetze’s keepsakes. Click here to enter the giveaway.
