Finding local restaurants with healthy meal options

I need your help.

Right after Thanksgiving I had the idea to start losing weight.

Brilliant, right?

But believe it or not, I have lost a few pounds since I started watching what I was eating and how much I was eating, even with all the holiday foods surrounding me.

In the last month and a half, I’ve gotten a good handle on piling fruits, veggies and proteins in my shopping cart and fewer high fat/carb products. I’m sort of following the WW diet plan (formerly Weight Watchers), so I’m finding meals that have as few points as possible.

What doesn’t help the situation is having a food-driven Instagram feed and seeing all the pictures of wonderful, delicious-looking dishes from local restaurants. My first thought is usually “Oh that looks SO GOOD!” My next thought is “How many points is that?”

It’s terrible but the scale is going down so I'm determined to not let it go back up.

So I'm looking for suggestions on restaurants/cafes to go to in Baltimore and the surrounding counties that offer a good variety of healthy-ish foods. Something more than just a veggie burger or salmon. I don’t mind splurging here and there because I don’t think denying myself a juicy beef burger or pasta dish is a good idea. But in my quest to find new places to eat, it would be awesome if their menu has options that won’t break my WW point bank.

Hit me up with your suggestions either on Twitter or Instagram @TasteBudsWMAR or email me megan.knight@wmar.com.
