Four local high school basketball teams punched their respective tickets to state championship games on Thursday.
On the girls side of things Catonsville topped North Point 64-40 in the 4A state semifinals at Towson University. The Comets will face Walt Whitman for the 4A state title. That game will take place on Saturday, at SECU Arena, at 3:00 p.m.
In the 3A girls state semifinals Atholton got by Milford Mill 61-54. The Raiders advance to play Frederick in the 3A championship on Saturday. That game is also at SECU Arena and will begin at 8:00 p.m.
At College Park's Xfinity Center Poly defeated Stephen Decatur 74-44 in the 3A boys semifinals. The Engineers will take on Potomac on Saturday, at Xfinity Center, at 3:00 p.m. The winner will be crowned 3A state champs.
In the 4A boys state semifinals Perry Hall ran by Annapolis 74-63. The Gators now get their chance at the 4A state title when they take on Quince Orchard. The 4A state championship will be played at Xfinity Center at 8:00 p.m.
