Nestled along the banks of the Patapsco River, Ellicott City is one of Maryland’s most historic communities, a town built on resilience long before tragedy struck Main Street in 2016.

On May 30, 2016, catastrophic flash flooding tore through Main Street after record-breaking rainfall overwhelmed the Tiber-Hudson watershed. Cars were swept away, businesses destroyed and two lives were lost.

Ten years later, the scars of the flood remain visible, but so does the resilience of a town still writing its next chapter.
