Where service members can go to get the best Veterans Day freebies

BALTIMORE — Veterans Day is coming up on November 11, and there are plenty of local businesses giving thanks.

This year WMAR-2 News is working for you as a Voice for Veterans.

Here's a list of some local deals being offered to our active and retired service members on their special day.

STYLE/FASHION

Veterans and active service members can go into any Great Clips salon in the U.S. and get a free haircut or free haircut card to use later, from November 12 to December 31.

Additionally, any non-veteran customer getting a haircut will receive a free haircut card to give to a veteran they know.

SHOPPING/RETAIL

The giant retailer will be offering a military discount both in stores and online from November 3 through 11. All military personnel, veterans and their families will receive a 10% discount on one purchase using a single-use coupon.
Eligible guests have to register on the Target's website to receive the discount.

AUTO CARE

Goodyear Auto Service and Just Tires are offering military members free car checks from November 8 through 16, including checks on tires, brakes, alignment, battery, wiper blades, shocks, and struts.
Active and retired military members will also receive free tire installation with the purchase of tires during that period, which is a minimum savings of $25 per tire. You can book an appointment online.

ENTERTAINMENT

Veterans and active service members will receive free admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 11

All active duty service members and veterans who purchase a movie ticket can get a Free Large Popcorn at any 500 AMC locations from Friday, November 8 to Monday, November 11.

Vets can also present their military ID to get a regular discounted on their movie ticket.

FOOD

All veterans and active duty members will be given a free six-inch turkey sub and regular size fountain drink, at any of their 596 stores. Veterans can also get a free car wash at Sheetz locations offering that service.

To qualify, all you need is a military ID or proof of service.

All veterans and active-duty military members can choose one free meal from a selected list of full-size entrees at their local Applebee’s.

All veterans and active-duty military members will be offered a complimentary slice of double chocolate fudge Coca-Cola cake or a pumpkin pie latte at all Cracker Barrel locations nationwide.

Plus, from October 28 through November 11, Cracker Barrel will offer $25 off all military themed rocking chairs and all other military licensed products in store or online.

Veterans and active-duty military members can choose one free meal from a selected list at their local Bob Evans.

From 5 a.m. to Noon on Veterans Day, Denny's will offer all active, non-active, and retired military members dining in, a free Build Your Own Grand Slam.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., all active, retired, or former U.S. military, can choose one of 10 entrees from a special Veterans Day menu, including a 6-ounce sirloin and two made-from-scratch sides plus a choice of any Coca-Cola product, sweet tea/iced tea or coffee at any Texas Roadhouse location.

A military, VA card, or discharge papers are needed to qualify.

All active, retired, or former U.S. military will receive a free "Thank You" dinner for dine in only. There are some restrictions, which are available on their website.

All active, retired, or former U.S. military can receive a free donut of their choice at any participating location.

From November 8-11, military veterans will get 50% off their meal, plus an additional 10% off for up to three guests. Some restrictions apply, that can be found on their website.

On Sunday, November 11, all veterans who present a military ID or proof of service and purchase a beverage at any participating Hooters location nationwide will receive a free meal from the Hooters Veterans Day Menu for dine-in only.

Active duty military and reservists will be offered a free appetizer or dessert on November 11, with a valid military ID or proof of service.

Veterans and active military can get a free Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries. Proof of service is required.

All veterans and active military receive a free Mom's Ricotta Meatballs + Spaghetti with military ID on November 11.

All veterans and active military members will be offered 50% off any menu item at the following Atlas owned Baltimore restaurants. All you need is your military ID.

Veteran's eat free on Monday! One meal is provided per veteran and the deal is for lunch or dinner. No alcohol is included.

Veterans and service members in uniform or with ID can get 50% off their meal at any of these four locations.
