The winner of the fourth-largest Powerball jackpot in the game’s history will be announced Wednesday night.
The $500 million prize will be the sixth-largest jackpot ever in North America, according to Maryland Lottery officials. The amount was increased to $500 million around noon on Wednesday.

The largest three jackpots in Powerball history were:
- $590.5 million—February 2013
- $587.5 million—November 2012
- $564.1 million—February 2015
Drawings happen on Saturday and Wednesday nights.
