Montgomery County officers shot and killed two dogs who were attacking a woman inside of a home in Montgomery Village Monday evening.
According to police, officers were called to the scene for an assault and witnessed the two dogs attacking the woman inside of the home.
Officers then entered the residence and shot the two dogs in an effort to rescue the woman from their attacks.
Police say another woman was also attacked by the dogs, but she was able to escape the home.
The dogs died from the gunshot wounds and the two women were sent to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Detectives are investigating the incident.
