Multiple crews help save a stranded and injured hiker at Catoctin Mountain Park on Sunday.
The hiker, a 48-year-old man, was injured after falling into a rugged area of the forest, landing in a crevice 30 feet below.
Rescue crews tried to get the man, but the conditions were too dangerous. A Maryland State Police helicopter was able to find the man, and lower a trooper to help him.
The man was then taken by helicopter and transported to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for evaluation.
The condition or name of the man has not been released.
